Party Owl

This is my second post today, so I guess you can probably tell there has been NO i***ing done !! This card was a rare flash of inspiration for me, well very rare in fact... I had some nesties laying on my desk waiting to be tidied away and also 'Birthday Hoot' from Pink Gem, waiting to be put into a CD case for storage. Anyways, I suddenly realised that the owl fitted the hexagon really well and then I remembered the crafty cardmakers challenge this week which is 'Inside out' so I thought why not put the owl inside (3rd piccy down) and make her a little window to look out of!! Not exactly genius I know, but I'm happy LOL!! Coloured the owl with promarkers and mounted onto a hexagonal piece of Bazzill bling. The balloon paper is from Dovecraft birthday stack, birthday brad and ribbon are both from my stash. Tricky bit was getting the bow right.....still not 100% sure about it. I'd like to enter Mrs Owl into the following challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers : Inside out
A spoonful of sugar: Celebrations
My time to craft: Vivid colours (hope this is bright enough!)
By the cute & girly: Celebrations
Passion for promarkers: Anything goes

T.G.I. Friday.......!!!!

Friday at last! This morning, I took one look at the pile of i***ing in the basket, and decided that making a card was far more important :-) !! I've had this PB stamp called 'Sweet catch' for quite a while and it is one of my favourites because it is great to colour and versatile enough for lots of occasions. Stamped with memento ink and coloured with promarkers (still love 'em). Sentiment is from a papermania set which was a free gift with Creativity magazine ages back. The main polka dot paper and stitched line paper are from the Daisy & Dandelion 'Picnic Patch' collection, other papers are from my scrap box. Finished with small ivory prima flowers and tiny green gems. I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafty calendar challenge: The great outdoors (and optional insects)
Crafty creations : Use your favourite stamp
Passion for promarkers: Anything goes
Flutterby Wednesday: open (but must include butterfly, fairy or angel)
One stitch at a time : Furry friends ( I hope hedgies count??)
Thanks for looking!

Hippo Bathtime!!

Talk about last minute.com - I am that woman!! I made this easel card this afternoon after trying all week to find some craft time!! The stamp is one I bought a while ago because it made me laugh, coloured with promarkers and then added glossy accents and glamour dust for the bubbles. The easel card is cut out using scalloped nesties, I got the idea from this tutorial at In2crafting. I couldn't find any suitable papers in my stash so I decided to use inked up cuttlebug folders to make some. The bubbles paper is made using the tiny bubbles folder and the bottom paper was made using the caramelo folder, I think the flowers match those on the bath quite nicely.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Secret crafter Saturday: No Patterned paper
A spoonful of sugar: Cute and girly
I am also going to enter this card into the make someone smile / cheer them up challenge at Stampin for the weekend. The second part of the challenge (optional) is to post a card to a child on Postpals. Post Pals is an organisation that was set up to create smiles for children who suffer from life threatening and long term illnesses:
" We ask people to log on to send the children featured on the website ‘happy post’. When a child is very ill, often a visit from the postman can make their day. A cheery card or letter can make them feel less alone and bring welcome distraction from what they go through each day."
I am going to send this card to Alice P who is battling Hodgkin's lymphoma, you can read her story here. I hope she likes it as she says she likes all things girly and bath bubbles!!!

Marvin Monkey

Hi Folks
Just wanted to show you the card I have made for my nephews birthday which is next weekend. I used Marvin on Vine from Pink Gem, because he likes monkeys and I thought it is a really fun image for a child's card. I stamped him 3 times and, as usual, I used Promarkers to colour him in, then I decoupaged up the image to give it some depth. I raided my stash for suitable papers : Grandpa's golf shirt by Reminisce, Fauna by Doodlebug and a sheet from the 6" x 6" Wild Asparagus collection by MME. The glittery number 7 is from a sheet of stickers by Craft Creatives which I picked up on a good B.O.G.O.F. offer the other week!! I'd like to enter Marvin into the following challenges:
A Gem of a challenge - Special Birthdays - I think all birthdays are 'important' when you are little, it is only as you get older you want to forget a few. I know that Matthew certainly thinks his birthday is special LOL!!
Create4fun - sketch week 18
SophistiCat challenge - #30 - card for a child
Oh Alice - card for a child (chapter 11)
Allsorts - challenge week 50 - Animals
Incy Wincy - Challenge 40 - Anything goes
and Pile it on - #17 Boyish colours - there's no pink on this!!!
