Hedgehog Bouquet

Morning Folks!
Yay, it's Saturday at last, fingers crossed we see some sunshine this weekend.
It's also time for some more inspiration for the 8th birthday celebrations over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge where I am guest designer this month - saying that still puts a very BIG smile on my face!

The Challenge theme is
BIRTHDAYS
and don't forget the

complete with fabulous prizes, is still continuing. All the details are on the main blog!

Here's my card, using PB Hedgehog Bouquet and papers mainly from First Edition 'Spring Drop' collection, along with a scrap of dotty paper which might be Trimcraft???

I have a nasty feeling the little chap won't have many flowers left in his bouquet if he keeps running along at this pace!!
Hope you can see the Stickles and Wink of Stella on the flowers a bit better in this piccy:

He has been coloured with promarkers and the card is finished with pearls, a fabric flower and some Dovecraft ribbon. The sentiment is by Crafter's Companion.

The prize on my blog is
Image result for penny black slapstick nose to nose
so don't forget to leave me a comment here before you visit Debby who is next on the hop.

A Father's Day note ..

Afternoon Folks!
Hope everyone is well.
I'm just popping on to share the card I made for my Dad for Father's Day on Sunday. As usual lately it was a bit of a last minute effort, but it is in the post now so fingers crossed it should reach him on time! I usually use a sailing boat stamp or Penny Black dog when I make Dad a card but I realised as I looked through my collection that he had probably had the same images for the past few years. While I was looking for something different to use I came across this PB one which is called 'Things to do' which is super quick to colour. After more rummaging I eventually found a suitable text sentiment to add to Mr Mouse's notepad - the text and little stars are both from a Woodware stamp set called Must Have Retro Words. I went for a quick CAS design:

Here's a closer look:

Papers are Forever Friends - Best of  British
Promarkers to colour and finished with Card Candi.

Sparkles, Peaches and Cream

Morning Folks!

It's a very excited post from me today, as I'm thrilled to announce that I have been invited to join the DT at Sparkles Monthly!! There's a new challenge just starting:

IF YOU MARRY IN JUNE

so we'd like to see something for a Wedding, Engagement or Anniversary.

I did have a minor panic when I first found out the theme as I hardly ever make wedding cards but then I remembered this Makey Bakey Mouse stamp that I bought ages ago in a sale. The papers are some I bought when I first started making cards, 'Exquisite' collection by Papermania - does anyone else remember these??
So here's my card:

I saw this card shape on Pinterest, I think it is called a stepped easel. I just adapted the measurements to suit the craftwork card bases I wanted to use. Here's the side view, along with a hint of late evening sunshine, so you can see the shape a bit better:

Here's the Happy Couple, don't they look cute!! Love the pearl trim, even though it was a right pain to glue down evenly!!

I also used:
Memento Rich Cocoa ink and promarkers
Dies: Nesties, MB Lavish Branch and Simon Says stamp string of Hearts
Prima Flowers and Pearls from my stash
Ribbon, lace and pearl string from The Art of Craft

I hope you can find the time to visit the main Sparkles Monthly blog and join this month's challenge. Just to tempt you even more, our sponsor this month is the fabulous Bugaboo who are giving 7 digi images to the lucky winner!!

Thanks for visiting and for any comments too!

Feeling Rosy

Evening Folks!
It's been a beautiful sunny day here in Hampshire - let's hope the summer is finally on it's way!

Well, it happened again - I was planning on sorting / tidying some crafty bits yesterday when I got sidetracked (as usual lately) and ended up making a card instead!!

I was trying to sort my wooden stamp collection and came across this very neglected HM stamp called 'Feeling Rosy' which seemed perfect for the challenge at As you like It - which is your favourite Food or Drink. The colours on the stamp just happened to match some trimmings of stripey LOTV paper waiting to be put away ......  yep a card had to be made!! I raided my collection of aqua scraps, grabbed the trusty favourite promarker colours and this is the finished result:

Love the contented look on that little mousey face - perhaps bathing in rose hip tea could become the next big spa treatment???

Feeling quite proud that I just used scraps on this, along with a piece of equally old ric-rac and a brad. I can't pretend it has made a huge dent in the amount of stash to use up but small steps hey!! It is a sort of tidying ....

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

As You Like It - Favourite Food or Drink - For me this is a no brainer, it has to be tea. I am a total tea addict, I've been drinking it ever since I was a baby. With a mug of strong 'builders' tea I can face most things but without it nothing gets done - don't even bother to speak to me!!

I love promarkers - Inspired by a film or song - This mouse remind me of the Dormouse at the tea party in Alice in Wonderland
Word Art Wednesdays - Anything goes
Deep Ocean Challenge - Furry / Feathered Friends
Passion for Promarkers - Furry Friends
Gruffies and Guests - Add a number or Anything goes
The Ribbon Girl - June Card Challenge
Colour Crazy Craft Challenge - Time for Tea colour inspiration:

House Mouse and friends Monday Challenge - Butterflies or anything HM goes
Pile It On - Tic Tac Toe - Centre Row

& Stamping Sensations - Feature a Creature

I made the top 3

Say Cheese!

Morning Folks!
A super excited post from me this morning!!
Last month I was invited to join the Penny Black Saturday Challenge as their guest designer for June - I was even more excited when I found out they are celebrating their 8th Birthday this month and that I'm invited to join the celebrations and blog hop!! What an honour for a Penny Black addict like me!! Thank you ladies!

The theme for this months challenge is
BIRTHDAYS
If you haven't visited the main blog already, all the details and blog hop order are here. Some of the DT are offering prizes on their blogs and there is also an extra prize up for grabs on the PBSC blog for those who complete the hop and leave comments as they go!

I've used another PB stamp 'rescued' from Ebay for my card, it's called Say Cheesecake and was really fun to colour with the trusty promarkers. I seem to be going through a phase of making masculine cards at the moment, this one is probably going to be for my photography mad husband! The sentiment is a very old magazine freebie (I think??) , papers are LOTV Country Gent and a piece of spotty paper from my scraps collection. The card is simply finished with an antique piece of Doodlebug ribbon and a few photo corners cut with a Die'sire die.

Here's the close up view (get it!!) of the cheeky little mice:

The prize on my blog is:
